Representation Before USCIS, ICE, and CBP
Consumer Law Group attorneys regularly handle cases before all components of the Department of Homeland Security, including USCIS, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Under 8 C.F.R. § 292.1, attorneys in good standing may represent individuals in federal immigration matters across the country. This includes preparing and filing petitions and applications for family-based, humanitarian, and employment-based benefits; representing clients in adjustment of status, naturalization, and waiver cases; and communicating directly with USCIS, ICE, and CBP officials on matters such as prosecutorial discretion, stays of removal, admissibility, and parole.
Because these processes are federal, Consumer Law Group attorneys are permitted to represent clients nationwide without obtaining additional state-specific licensure.
Representation Before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals
Consumer Law Group is authorized to appear before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), which oversees the nation’s Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). EOIR’s regulations (8 C.F.R. § 1292.1) allow attorneys admitted to the bar of any U.S. jurisdiction to represent clients once properly registered through EOIR’s eRegistry system.
Through this authorization, Consumer Law Group handles every type of immigration court proceeding, including master calendar and individual hearings for detained and non-detained clients, motions to reopen or reconsider, bond hearings, and appeals to the BIA. The firm also assists clients seeking relief such as asylum, withholding of removal, protection under the Convention Against Torture (CAT), cancellation of removal, and adjustment of status within the court system.

Representation Before the U.S. Department of State and Consular Posts
Consumer Law Group’s federal authorization also extends to cases involving the U.S. Department of State (DOS) and U.S. consulates worldwide. The firm assists clients with consular processing and National Visa Center (NVC) matters, including preparing affidavits of support, submitting supporting documents, addressing requests for additional evidence, and assisting with inadmissibility waivers.
Consumer Law Group coordinates directly with NVC case officers and U.S. consular officials to ensure that each client’s case is properly prepared and supported before visa interviews abroad. Because these processes are federal in nature, our attorneys can represent clients who are outside the United States or who reside in any state, without the need for local licensing in the applicant’s place of residence.
